Organisers : Lionel Arnaud, LaSSP, Julie Lourau, UCSAL, Dagoberto Fonseca, UNESP, Basilele Malomalo, UNILAB.

Presentation :

This seminar is the second organised by the CultuRight collective after the one organised in Cape Town with the HSRC, in South Africa, which consisted in discussing the first field results of the Brazilian, French and South African teams involved in the research "Cultural rights, a turning point for cultural policies" (coordinated by Lionel Arnaud and financed by the Labex SMS of the Federal University of Toulouse and the French Ministry of Culture).

The aim of this second seminar, financed by the French Consulate in Sao Paulo, is to critically question the practice of social sciences in these three countries, in particular when they are interested in the cultural and artistic expressions of Afro-descendant populations. The aim is to question both the intellectual traditions that nourish the researchers’ views, the contexts of intervention, and the way in which the respondents (inhabitants, activists, artists) can be involved or even co-construct the work of reflection and data collection.
